Carlson Farm Design Review Request

This form can be used to digitally submit your request to make improvements to your home. By using this form, we hope to speed up the approval process. Throughout the process, you'll be notified via email of the progress!

  • GENERAL CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION:
    1. Shed:     NO cedar, Masonite, plastic or metal sidings or construction allowed. Siding must be a textured wood composite lap siding similar to most of the houses in Carlson Farms final phases. Trim board should be a wood composite similar to your house. Shed should be painted the same color as your house body and trim. Structure should be 2x4 construction with concrete or wood base.

    2. Shingles.
    Approved Dimensional shingles are – Owens Corning Duration in Driftwood, GAF Timberline HD in Weathered Wood, or Tamko Heritage in Weathered Wood, Certain Teed Landmark in the Weathered Wood Design or Malarkey Legacy in the Natural Wood design. All shingles shall be of the weathered wood color design or similar. Samples will be required to obtain approval of any other brand. The HOA does not pre-approve or endorse any shingle manufacturer.

    3. Trees: Johnstown has specific requirements for trees and shrubs. Be sure to check with them to make sure you use types
    approved by them.

    4. Hot Tub: if you have a 6 foot tall fence around your back yard then the tub can be installed without any additional screening.  If you have one of the low split rail fences then the tub will need additional screening so it can not be easily seen from the green space. Verify which style of fence you have and size of tub, color and material the skirt is made from when you submit for tub approval. The area the hot tub is located in must be fenced for safety reasons.

        - Type of materials to be used
        - Submit drawing of layout

    7. Shed
        - Type of materials to be used
        - Type of construction

    8. Satellite Dish
        - Type/Size of Dish
        - Location of Dish

    9. Pergola
         - Type of materials to be used
         - Type of construction
         - Submit drawing of layout

    10. Hot Tub
         - Brand/Size/Color etc
         - Submit drawing of layout
         - If the yard backs to green space include method of
           shielding from view

    11. Doors / Main Entry / Garage
         - Include details of change/addition

    12. Other
         - Include details of change/addition
